A New Entry, Inc. (ANE) is a faith-based non-profit the help individuals rediscover their true identity after struggling with homelessness, addiction and/or incarceration. ANE is currently seeking a highly motivated individual who has a calling to serve people by preparing meals with love. This individual is compassionate to all people and has patience, kindness, and empathy towards others. Has an understanding that we are servants to those in a time of need.
Freedom to prepare specialty meals within the nutients .
Preparing meals for approximately 60 clients and prepare daily sack lunches for the working clients.
Ability to transport prepared meals from Webberville Rd to FM 973 Del Valle. (9 miles)
JOB SUMMARY:
Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items. Donations of prepared cooked food. Unpack to re-heat and prepare as cook sees fit. Putting a tasty twist on food. Observing diet restrictions of identified clients.
Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, and 365 days to clients that live at our Treatment Facility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains a Guest focus while performing duties in a servant heart manner. With dignity and compassion.Mindful of the budget for the kitchen needs.
Weekly Menu Planning.
Leadership skills for all staff members
Creative Style Cooking by all cooks
Holiday Celebration Meals, including cook outs.
Weekly trips to the Food Bank. Manage all donations of food. Hold weekly meeting.
Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items.
Complete opening and closing checklists.
Promptly report equipment and food quality or shortage problems to Housing Director.
Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies and procedures as provided by a licensed dietitian.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products to assure smooth service periods.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area.
Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance to applicable state laws.
Close the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen station. Assists others in closing the kitchen.
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
Performs other related duties as assigned by a Director
