Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is looking to hire two enthusiastic Kennel Assistants to join their fast-paced team!

These positions are full-time and require flexible scheduling and availability for weekend and overnight work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Keeping cages clean and sanitized
• Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
• Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)
• Maintaining the grounds of the hospital, including shoveling and salting walkways and the parking lot during the winter
• Handling a variety of animals safely
• Maintain hospital inventory, including restocking of retail products and medical supplies

Requirements:

• Previous animal handling experience in a paid or volunteer role
• Must be friendly and outgoing as you will be interacting with clients on a daily basis
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and be willing and able to safely move dogs of all sizes including dogs that are over 100 pounds.
• Must be flexible with hours and available to work holidays and weekends
• Must be comfortable standing, walking and being active for most of the day

Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is an emergency clinic originally formed by local veterinarians in hopes of delivering prompt and conscientious emergency care for patients after hours, on weekends and during holidays. We are fully equipped and provide state-of-the-art care. All of our doctors and technicians have training and experience in emergency care. Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 5:30pm – 8am and Saturday & Sunday 8am – 8am (Open 24 hours from Friday 8am – Monday 8am).

Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic is in Brewer, Maine, a city of approximately 10,000 people, which sits just outside of the larger city of Bangor: population 150,000. Brewer is located on the tidal Penobscot River, with 10 nearby lakes and countless streams.
