As an Assessment Clinician, you will be primarily responsible for conducting Juvenile Probation ( AIIM Higher) and Foster Care Mental Health (FCMH) CANS Screens. For AIIM Higher, this includes completing the CANS Screen, holding the linkage for the youth, coordinating with the youth's Probation Officer, and completing the necessary paperwork. For Foster Care Mental Health, this includes completing the CANS Screen, coordinating with the youth/child's Social Worker, completing the necessary paperwork, and attending the Behavioral Health Child and Family Team Meeting to present the Assessment Clinician's recommendations. Becoming the Assessment Clinician, you will be able to lead teaching, facilitating, organizing, and all other activities for the Aggression Replacement Training program with youth on Probation. Part of your work as an Assessment Clinician is to hold cases you have worked on as needed until a permanent team is identified. Depending on program need, they may also hold Wraparound and/or Therapy cases.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The AIIM Higher program is a partnership between the San Francisco Department of Public Health and Seneca Family of Agencies, and serves juvenile justice-involved youth and their families in San Francisco County. The Assessment Clinician provides short-term, data-informed, clinical assessment, linkage, and engagement services to children and families involved with juvenile probation. Assessment Clinicians are members of a treatment team, and provide services at the program site and in the community, including juvenile hall, schools, and family homes.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts all aspects of the AIIM Higher CANS screen and Linkage process
  • Conducts all aspects of the Foster Care Mental Health CANS Screen process
  • Lead staff member for ART(facilitating, paperwork, communication, etc.)
  • Carry a long-term Wraparound and/or Therapy caseload as needed
  • Provide culturally specific services for clients and families, using conceptual frameworks that considers client and family’s cultural location(race, ethnicity, nationality, class, education, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
  • Understand own social and cultural location, the systems of oppression within which we operate, and the impact those have on the clients and communities we serve
  • Provide psychoeducation as needed to clients’ families or other providers
  • Write assessments, mental health notes, treatment plans, outcome measures, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Always maintain professional behavior, appropriately representing the Seneca mission and philosophy
  • Maintain close communication with other Seneca providers to design, implement, and monitor treatment planning for clients
  • Communicate with outside professionals involved with clients as needed
Qualifications:
REQUIRED
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work OR MHRS credential
  • BBS license eligible
  • Experience with mental health and life skills assessment
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends and evenings as needed
  • Ability to work as a part of a multidisciplinary team and within a diverse population
  • Good organizational skills
  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and all other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Own vehicle, California driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster

PREFERRED
  • One year of Wraparound and/or Juvenile Probation experience
  • Bilingual skills
  • At least 1-year experience in working with Families who are experiencing the impact of complex systematic disparities that contribute to community and individual mental health challenges
Schedule:
  • Monday - Friday (9am-5pm)
    • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours as needed

  • Starting salary $70,000- $84,000 with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
