Behavioral therapist/life coach wanted for a 23 year old young man with autism who is a largely non-verbal communicator. Recruiting therapist at any level with room to grow through extensive training. Be part of this dynamic team and grow into leadership position. This young man is engaged and gentle, and can do basic self-care. However, he has difficulty initiating conversations or expressing himself, sequencing tasks and evaluating risk. He requires guidance for self-care and safety skills, to develop his communication skills, stay on task with his chores, to access online programs which support pre-vocational training, and participate in the community.

Be part of a dynamic new model Day Treatment Program guided by natural environment Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to support his life skills, and a letter board system, the Rapid Prompt Method (RPM), to help him communicate. It is an exciting time in his development as this new communication system is demonstrating that he can read, spell, and express his views. Training in this letter board system is provided and car is available for your use during shifts! Also, even those working part-time accrue sick time, with paid time off for those working over a year at 30 hrs or more a week. Position requires a commitment of 2 or more shifts a week, but more hours may open up and existing employees get first choice.

Must be 18 years or older and legal to work in U. S., speak and write clear English language, have a valid driver's license, be willing to drive client, and be willing to be get covid and flu vaccinations. Preference is for those experienced in working on an ABA team, but also willing to train.

Summary

Key Job Description Responsibilities:

• Administer Day Treatment Program and Home Program of behavioral and life skills, communication and vocational training.

• Collect data for ABA goals, under guidance of Manager.
• Attends training in Rapid Prompt Movement, ABA updates and other programs as dictated by changes in program.
• Assembles materials for program in conjunction with vocational therapist.
• Supervises activities of daily living (ADLs) and support as necessary, using a prompt hierarchy.

• Reflects on work performance--accepts and integrates feedback on skills level.

• Provides feedback to Team Leader for reworking goals across behavioral, life skills, communication and vocational programs to develop a coherent overall program.
• Given the immunocompromised status of patient it is required that person applying and their close network be immunized for Covid and the Flu and that precautions below are followed, including the need for testing 1 day a week and with exposure.

* Sunday 330-1030pm (must work at least 1 w/e shift)

*Additional shifts available dependent on staff holidays
