The Role*
Neptune is growing its local team and is looking for a Junior Naval Architect to be primarily office-based at its Houston, Texas location. In this position, you should expect to be involved in multiple projects simultaneously. You will create solutions as per client needs and/or our product line development, under the guidance of senior team members, and will be given more responsibilities as your competencies grow.

What You'll Do*
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and mutual respect for coworkers in a culture of collaboration, integrity, and innovation.
- Provide engineering/technical support for
- Concept & feasibility studies.
- Preliminary design activities.
- Contract design activities.
- Detail design and construction activities.
- Independent design reviews.
- In-service ship design and engineering activities.
- Shipboard installation support.
- Special studies related to ships/boats/craft, ship systems and/or shipboard equipment.
- Demonstrate leadership and ability to take ownership of their work.
- Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication.
- Demonstrate ability to think creatively but also adhere to applicable regulations.
- Demonstrate excellent spatial awareness.
- Demonstrate a passion for the maritime industry.
- Willing to travel occasionally as per business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Minimum bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture.
- Engineer-in-Training certification is preferred.
- 0-2 Years of Working Experience.
- Familiarity with the Dredging industry is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Specific technical knowledge of basic and detailed design of ships including hydrostatics, stability, and structural analysis.
- Familiarity with ABS/BV, CFR, USCG, SOLAS, IMO and other applicable regulations.
- Familiarity and general knowledge of vessel systems, computational methods, and design processes.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Rhino, Inventor, ShipConstructor and GHS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
