Junior Engineer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of Mechanical engineering to join our team currently serving industrial clients. Under general supervision, plans, conducts, or supervises tasks such as contractor coordination, design and report writing on mechanical projects. Reviews progress and evaluates results. Interprets and applies organization policy. Recommends changes in procedures. Operates with substantial latitude for independent action or decision. Reviews progress with management. Prepares, develops and assists in the preparation of bid, proposals and qualification statements.
The successful candidate will have experience in preparing design calculations, cost estimates, and preparation of specifications report and bid evaluations.
Your Role (replaces “Responsibilities"):
- Perform and manage technical tasks such as fieldwork, design, and report writing on mechanical projects in the public and private sector
- Participate in functions involving contact with client representative. Work/coordinate with project team personnel
- Perform a range of tasks requiring utilization of advanced scientific and engineering analytical techniques, including development of cost-effective remedial strategies. Assist in and potentially lead efforts in preparing:
- Work plans, feasibility study, and long-term monitoring reports
- Reports
- Cost estimates
- Provide technical direction and guidance to field personnel
- Assist in proposal preparation efforts. Potential to participate in technical and sales presentations to clients
- This position has field related responsibilities
- Position does not require travel
Qualifications (replaces “Requirements"):
- Ability and willingness to multi-task and prioritize several projects while completing assignments
- Must be well organized and possess the necessary skills to effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms.
- Must be able work both independently without continual oversight and direction, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel to client facilities.
- Candidates must have a B.S. degree in Engineering, Advanced Engineering Degree preferred; and a minimum of 1 year of related mechanical experience. 1+ year experience in the heavy industry field, preferable in plant engineering.
- Act as Owner’s Engineer and provide contractor oversight as required
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills required
- Proficient in MS Office programs (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and able to learn new software
- Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal.
- AutoCAD or other design software experience is a plus
Excellent technical writing and communication skills is required. The candidate should be able to manipulate engineering data including, but not limited to, applying correction factors, converting units, conducting statistical analyses, and performing engineering calculations.
Candidates must possess ability to resolve conflicts and provide solutions in a professional manner.
Roles associated with this position include a variety of field assignments and office-based tasks such as field investigations, engineering design, data evaluation, report writing, and project management.
Candidate must be well organized, enthusiastic and energetic.
Strong communication skills are required for work plan, design, and report preparation and interaction with clients in the field.
Must be computer literate and be proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Project and environmental software. PowerPoint knowledge is beneficial.
