Weyerhaeuser's Longview, WA Export Facility is looking for well skilled individuals to fill Journey Level Heavy Equipment Mechanic positions. These are hourly, full-time, roles represented by the IAM-AW Union. Pay starts at $33.51 per hour, with a progression plan based on demonstrated and learned skills. Key Functions

• Safely and efficiently work as part of a team to quickly detect, diagnose, and repair equipment failures
• Utilize computer-based diagnostic systems to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Welding and fabrication
• Read and interpret schematics, parts manuals, and repair manuals
• Perform preventive maintenance functions
• Be adaptable and flexible to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects
• Ensure compliance and provide support with environmental and safety initiatives

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Heavy Equipment repair training and experience, including diesel and gas engines
• Proficient in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic theory
• Steady work history with previous relatable experience
• Ability to work safely and adhere to safety procedures and protocol
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload
• Willingness and ability to learn new skills
• Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work both individually and as a team
• Availability to work any bid to or assigned shift (day, swing, weekend)
• Successful completion of background check and post-offer pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Own and provide basic mechanical toolset

Desired

• Log Stacker and shovel maintenance and repair experience
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Two years of diesel school or equivalent experience

Compensation: Your wages and benefits are set by the labor agreement between Weyerhaeuser and the union representing employees at this work site. The pay rate starts at $33.51 per hour, with a progression plan based on demonstrated and learned skills.
