At Makom, we are looking for a Jewish/Religious Life Coordinator! As a Jewish Organization serving Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for 40+ years in Maryland and Virginia, we are looking to create community connections which will enrich individual aspirations for self-determined religious experiences.

As the Jewish/Religious Life Coordinator, you will:

• Support Makom in creating a welcoming religious environment by creating and providing training and educational materials, to enrich and strengthen the level of understanding of Jewish values and traditions in creative and innovative ways.

• Develop strategies to meet spiritual, faith, and religious needs of individuals supported by Makom based on their specific level of understanding and devotion to their Jewish faith.

• Create a bridge between Makom and the Jewish community to create opportunities of engagement and involvement.

• Offer and create a safe environment to console and provide emotional and religious support to Makom staff.

To join us as a Jewish/Religious Life Coordinator, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree plus 2-3 years of prior relevant work experience in a non-profit setting preferred.

• Proven commitment and experience building and engaging within the Jewish Community and Program Planning.

• Knowledge of religious traditions, including but not limited to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.
