Responsibilities:
We are looking for someone with a commitment to learning and a can-do attitude to join our IT team. You will be responsible for:
- Ownership over our data center infrastructure, tasked with all aspects of keeping it up and operating in an optimal and reliable manner
- Contacting third-party vendors about remote equipment installation and maintenance and then supervising those projects through completion
- Managing the full lifecycle of new and existing hardware
- Performing hardware installation and troubleshooting existing hardware
- Documenting both new and established procedures to establish and foster best practices firmwide
- Cooperating with other engineers to provide stable and secure deployments of new infrastructure components
- Working with network engineers to reliably upgrade and replace old network equipment
- Troubleshooting hardware and software
- Providing in-office support and hardware support with a strong focus on end-user satisfaction
- Working with a ticketing system to provide open and smooth communication about new and existing issues
- Working as part of an in-office team to collaborate directly with our experienced traders and technologists on brainstorming and implementing creative solutions to a wide range of problems
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related experience
- 2+ years of experience in related field
- Hands-on experience cabling, racking, and installing bare metal servers, network devices, and network cards
- Experience with remote management tools for servers (iDrac, iLO)
- Understanding of the Linux operating system on the administration level (Debian, CentOS)
- Extensive Linux troubleshooting experience (tcpdump, mdump, netstat, logs)
- Working experience with troubleshooting skills of the Windows (AD, logs, services)
- Practical knowledge of inventory tools (Netbox)
- Good understanding of monitoring tools (Icinga2, Grafana, ELK)
- Good management skills with ticketing and documentation tools (Jira, Confluence)
- Experience with infrastructure management tools (Ansible, Puppet) is a plus
- Experience with scripting and automation (Python, Bash or other) is a plus
- Understanding of automated provisioning tools (PXE, Foreman) is a plus
- Experience in a low latency environment a strong plus, e.g., Solarflare, Onload, PTP
