Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science\Software Engineering
• 5+ years of experience
• Excellent Hardware and software troubleshooting skills
• Proven experience with systems planning, implementation, security principles, and general software management best practices
• Extensive technical knowledge of standard network concepts, switch configuration and segmented routing applied in a Cisco environment.
• Extensive experience with core software applications, including VMWare, Windows Server, Linux, MSSQL, O365 and Solarwinds.
• Knowledge of Standard ITIL practices
• The position requires that ability to sit and type for extended periods of time. Standing, walking, bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting/turning, climbing, and reaching will occur occasionally. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities:

• The role of the Network Engineer is to ensure the stability, security, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
• This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked hardware, software and associated operating systems
• The Network Engineer will work with System Administrators and Help desk personnel and apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, and resolve issues to maximize the IT/Infrastructure investment.
• Provide leadership and direction in deploying and maintaining infrastructure.
• Design, supervise and participate in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting corporate network, server application and infrastructure.
• Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, develop, and implement strategies for improving existing systems.
• Interact with vendors and contractors to secure system related products and services.
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, standard processes, and service records.
• Monitor and test system performance, prepare and deliver system performance reports
• Provide training to co-workers for all modified and new systems.
