Overview
Ascend Performance Materials is looking for a Principle IT ERP Specialist who will be supporting the IT Enterprise Security Team with their ongoing efforts on ensuring the integrity of Ascend Performance Materials’ SAP System access controls and change management processes. This role will play a critical part of the production support, security maintenance, lead continuous improvement and directly liaise with internal and external auditors. Successful candidates will be focused and highly motivated individuals with strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain partnerships with the business and other internal IT Groups.
Targeted Outcomes (next 12 months):
  • Document SAP Security Architecture/Strategy
  • Document and or refresh standard operating procedures for SAP practices
  • Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits
  • Manage daily SAP security needs – new accounts, role additions/deletions and password resets
Key Responsibilities:
  • Solid knowledge of SAP security principles and practices (technical and none technical)
  • Review existing SAP Security configuration and determine any inefficiencies or weaknesses
  • Ability to use non GRC custom tools and standard SAP delivered transactions pertaining to SAP Security
  • Assist in moving from custom toolset to SAP GRC
  • Solid understanding of SOX controls
  • Proactively recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities and vulnerabilities; investigate violations when one occurs
  • Provide support on upgrading and maintaining security systems and tools
  • Perform and document results for periodic monthly/quarterly reviews on critical security access and transactional activity
  • Work with other IT resources to address security concerns or questions
  • Work with the Infrastructure Team to ensure the integrity of the integrated systems
  • Provide support as required to requests for information from the annual IT Audit and being the key point of contact on audit related activities
  • Maintain SAP licenses as per contract in each system. Provide support as required to requests for information from the annual SAP License Audit.
  • Ensure policies and procedures put in place are adhered to and take corrective action where non-conformities are identified.
  • Have an understanding of current and proposed legislation as it applies to Ascend Performance Materials regarding IT/SAP Security
  • Manage Incident and Change Request service levels according to IT guidelines (ITIL Process)
  • On-call and after hours support for SAP project team maintenances and outages
  • Provide backup as required to other IT Security functions
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 15 years IT experience including 10 years of SAP Security experience and broad general knowledge of IT systems and security procedures.
  • At least five lifecycles of experience managing an IT audit team exercise
  • Exposure to general IT security systems and tools a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications in IT/IT Security/SAP Security or related field preferred.
  • Formal training in SAP Security maintenance and/or GRC a preferred
  • Exposure in implementing SAP Security in SAP S/4 and Fiori preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to perform complex system analysis and draw conclusions by relating information from different sources, including root-cause analysis and issue resolution
  • Highly self-motivated, driven work ethic, keen attention to detail and exceptional customer service orientation
  • Ability to communicate highly technical information in an understandable manner to non-technical audiences through writing and presentations
  • Must have experience juggling multiple projects in fast pace, ever changing environment while meeting project objectives in a timely manner using standard project management methodologies
  • Comfortable conducting presentations in-person and via web-based meetings
  • Committed to continuously learning and developing new IT/SAP Security skills and technologies
  • Excellent problem solving skills: both at the frontline and incident to problem management
