Job Summary
Provides support to design and develop applications for all IT-related systems critical to core organizational functions. This includes interfacing with clients, documenting business requirements, designing, developing and unit testing. Must be able to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Incumbents work with a large degree of independence; assignments are received in the form of results expected.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain web and/or desktop applications, primarily using a Microsoft technology stack.
- Ability to learn and support additional technologies as needed for the organization.
- Accurately estimate software development projects and tasks.
- Lead and collaborate on efforts to analyze and understand complex requirements.
- Ensure delivered applications meet or exceed user expectations and are quality proven.
- Exercise creative and analytical thinking with diverse and multidisciplinary groups to envision and execute innovative software solutions.
- Build productive working relationships with individuals and organizations.
- Effectively present technical designs to non-technical audiences.
- Navigate appropriate communication channels for solving issues as they arise.
- Work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Maintains an awareness of technology trends in the industry to identify technology skill sets that need to be developed or enhanced within the organization.
- Works as a team member to identify solutions on a variety of IT-related projects.
- Works toward certification in areas of expertise, when available.
- May assist with formal or informal presentations.
- Promotes continuous improvement philosophy and methodology that results in a continuous improvement culture within Information Technology.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Associate degree or industry-recognized certificate (i.e., the completion of a core group of course designated by the institution) in an Information Technology related discipline is preferred; other non-Information Technology degrees will be considered. Knowledge and capabilities typically acquired through at least 6 years of Information Technology related experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology-related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.

- Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from among a broad range of technologies and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
- Ability to work in a team and/or matrixed structure, supporting multiple clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication and advocacy skills consistent with the ability to present the results of projects and research to management. Ability to influence and build relationships to foster a positive work environment and elicit support for acceptance of new technology within the organization.
- Understanding of IT industry, e.g. emerging technologies, industry standards, support services, architectures, systems design, and systems integration and an in-depth knowledge of accepted IT processes related to asset acquisition, inventory processes and supplier contract management.
- Solid solution delivery life cycle and ability to apply best practices.
- Competent in multi-tasking (i.e., the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, issues or projects that may include high-visibility initiatives and require innovation, teamwork and planning).
