The Role:
The IT Desktop Support Specialist will deal with multiple aspects of technology, including server, network and desktop management. In addition, the IT Desktop Support Specialist will work within a small team to handle on premises infrastructure maintenance activities related to server and workstation patching, structured cabling, associate onboarding and offboarding, management of the corporate telephony solution, and working directly with facilities management to assist with building related issues. The ideal candidate for this position will often interface with customers directly and over the phone, so strong customer service skills are a critical component to the required skillset.
What You Will Do:
- Assist with enterprise level desktop support of new desktop equipment (Windows 10, 11, and macOS).
- Software and hardware upgrades, installs and configuration to wireless laptops and desktops.
- Management of on premises virtualization platform, including patching of virtual servers and underlying hypervisors.
- Assistance with peripherals such as printers, cameras, mice, keyboards, etc.
- Management of Active Directory environment (account maintenance, GPOs, file server permissions).
- Maintenance and monitoring of data closets and equipment rooms.
- User account creation and maintenance.
- VPN and password management.
- Support enterprise VoIP phone solution.
- Local and external network connectivity troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc).
- Manage access to building facilities via distribution and management of key FOB devices.
- Utilize ticketing system to track requests and manage service level agreements.
What You Bring:
- BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field (industry experience may be substituted for the education requirement).
- 2-3 years of experience with Active Directory (roaming profiles, GPOs, Powershell).
- Experience with VMware vSphere and administering a cloud-based VoIP telephony platform.
- Experience with mobile device management platforms such as Kaseya or JAMF.
- Remote and on-site problem resolution skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
