Job Title: IT Assistant
Location: Delta, CO
Reports to: IT Administrator
Purpose: To Support the IT department in troubleshooting and maintaining hardware and software used for staff and students of Vision Charter Academy (VCA).
Pay Scale: $15.75 - $20.11 per hour
Days/Year: 223 days
Hours/Week: 40 (Non-Exempt, Full-time)
Benefits: Position qualifies for Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) benefits and
qualifies for health, dental, life, and long term disability insurance benefits. This position also qualifies for accrual of sick and vacation leave.
Note: Position is not remote and must report to a physical location.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check to work in a school.
Special Knowledge/Skills: The right candidate should be highly knowledgeable in troubleshooting software and hardware equipment, must be highly knowledgeable in a wide array of software programs, basic website knowledge, high knowledge of networking, high knowledge of system administration, knowledgeable on computer security issues, great communication skills, independent technology troubleshooting, organization.
Experience: Two years’ experience in computer / device maintenance and repair, networking and system administration.
General Description of Duties: The Information Technology Assistant will aid the Information Technology Administrator in the maintenance, training, and use of VCA technology.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain and repair VCA computers (laptops, Chromebooks) on location.
Maintain and repair IT devices (iPads, VOIP phone system, televisions, printers, tablets, etc.) on location.
Troubleshoot network services, operating systems, software, and hardware used by VCA.
Knowledgeable independent technology troubleshooting.
Technology installation, setup, and training.
Maintain and support external and internal websites.
Troubleshoot security issues.
Troubleshoot and assist with technology issues for computer based education programs and database system issues.
Give necessary support and training to employees, families and learners.
Create and maintain IT training videos.
Load, configure, and back up VCA technology.
Assist with IT policies and procedure development.
Maintain technology inventory.
Assist in planning for and executing learner testing.
Participate in employee evaluation and professional development opportunities.
Setup and support school functions with IT equipment such as sound, projectors, etc.
Attend meetings, training, committees as required.
Meet organizational deadlines and communication protocols.
Complete other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
Carry out other organizational requirements as necessary including, but not limited to:
Communicate effectively with the staff members, learners, parents, administrators, and other contact persons.
Participate in employee evaluation and professional development opportunities.
Attend meetings, training, and committees as required.
Meet organizational deadlines and communication protocols.
Accomplish organizational goals by carrying out other duties relevant to the position as assigned by the supervisor.
Working Conditions:
- This position works in a normal office environment.
- Long periods of sitting, standing, talking on the telephone, and typing may be required.
- It is common for this position to have a fluctuated schedule with increased periods of stress.
- This position works in a school environment.
- May be required to work evening hours and weekends for special program events.
- Travel to other campuses is required.
