As a IP Core Architect, your role is to develop and maintain IP/Core network architectural standards, roadmaps, life cycles supporting our portfolio of products, applications, and integrations in partnership with other architects, business stakeholders and technical writers.

What you will do:
- Develop and manage end-to-end IP/Core carrier-grade network architectures and product integrations
- Lead collaborative team of cross-functional colleagues to envision and document evolving IP/Core technology roadmaps along product and equipment life cycles
- Work closely with vendors and strategic partners that support our IP/Core network and products, assessing existing IP/Core network technologies to increase performance, security, and efficiency
- Continuously evaluate emerging IP/Core network technologies to maximize performance, security & efficiency
- Prepare executive status reports or correspondence concerning architectural milestones, technical roadmaps, and lifecycle maintenance
- Partner with technical writer to produce standards documents for current and future deployments
- Verify IP/Core network elements are being deployed as designed
- Ensure IP/Core design standards are not only state of the art but also in alignment with industry best practices
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure effective operation of department
What you will bring:
- In-depth understanding of IP/Core network systems, protocols, and product architectures covering end to end service solutions for the telecommunications industry, systems integration, infrastructure engineering, and network operations
- 5 - 10 years of IP/Core network architectural design with cross-functional leadership experience
- Expert knowledge and experience in:
- Layer 3 routing protocols : RIPv2, OSPF or IS-IS, and BGP
- Protocol inspection and packet capture methods using tools such as TCPDUMP/PCAP and Wireshark
- Juniper MX, EX, and SRX platforms and configurations focused on routing, QOS, MPLS, VoIP, and Security
- Network security and design principles; demonstrated ability to secure network services and knowledge of secure modular network design and risk assessment
- TCP/IP (IPV4 / IPV6), Ethernet technologies, IP routing and routing protocols, multicast, Unix/Linux systems, network security technologies and carrier network architectures
- Network and datacenter virtualization
- SDN and emerging technology standards
- Working knowledge of:
- Juniper based tools such as STRM and Space desired
- Access platforms based on the following standards: MEF, Active Ethernet and PON. Calix experience is preferred
- Juniper/Cisco certifications of JNCIE or equivalent experience desired
- Strong soft skills, such as critical thinking, verbal/written communications and leadership
