Current CPR certification
Experience REQUIRED: N/A
Experience PREFERRED:
Previous stockroom/warehouse work experience with stocking, inventory and control of supplies
Previous experience with a personal computer and basic computer skills (i.e. use of mouse, navigation, etc.)
Previous inventory and control experience with medical and surgical supplies in a sterile environment (i.e. Operating Room)
Education/training REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Education/training PREFERRED:
Sterile Supply or Materials Management Training
Independent action(s) required:
Incumbent must be able to decide when to expedite supplies based on obvious or expressed needs.
Take initiatives in helping to reduce supply costs.
Functions under the direction of a Supervisor/Manager when providing emotional support and problem-solving in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedures.
Requires prior approval or guidance from Manager for time/schedule changes, legal issues and identified educational resources to meet developmental needs.
Job duties may include the access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Additional position requirements:
Inventory Control Technician works all three shifts, weekend and holidays.
Individual shift rotations and schedules will be established with your specific Supervisor or Manager.
Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet staffing requirements or as is in the best interest of the work unit.
