Davis-Standard has an immediate opening for an Inventory Supervisor supporting the Fulton, NY plant and work stream.
Job Description
A successful incumbent is responsible for overseeing the receiving, handling, storing, and distributing processes of our products, parts from vendors/suppliers and supplies. The main duties include controlling the flow of supplies and equipment, tracking and analyzing inventory maintenance and developing protocols for loss mitigation. There will also be a people management portion to this role as well. Directing the team, ensuring that they are completing their duties in a safe, high quality and efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities
- These may include but are not limited to:
- Maintain daily records for items received/entered into the system
- Receive and input shipments in a safe and organized manner, both physically and electronically
- Identify which stock products need to be replenished/reordered
- Track inventory with the inventory management system (MIS)
- Hire and train new employees
- Supervise inventory employees
- Maintain inventory tracking system for optimized inventory control procedures
- Conduct weekly physical stock cycle counts
- Examine the levels of raw materials and supplies to determine shortages
- Document daily shipments and deliveries to replenish inventory
- Create detailed reports for adjustments, inventory operations and stock levels
- Evaluating new inventory, ensuring it’s ready to ship
- Supervise daily parts order shipments
- Work with purchasing to monitor and improve VMI (vendor managed inventory) process
- Assist in continual improvement to inventory, material handling, and assembly support processes
