About the Role: *
Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist conducts inventory counting and reconciliation to ensure that our food manufacturing operations continue without interruption.
This position is a unique opportunity to be part of the early team at Thistle’s brand new East Coast facility, located in Burlington, NJ. The team is responsible for launching and growing Thistle East operations to bring delicious, plant-forward, and planet-friendly meals to customers on the East Coast.
This position is 100% onsite in Burlington, NJ.
What you'll do
- Cycle count and reconcile raw materials, packaging materials, finished goods, waste, and non-conforming materials daily or per schedule
- Maintain the cycle count records for management review; provide reports related to cycle count activity
- Assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies; follow up with investigative research to determine the root cause of the discrepancy
- Help resolve problems that may arise concerning material stock inventory levels by interacting with department managers, as well as internal and external customers
- Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, investigates discrepancies, and work with management to resolve
- Help reconcile inventory records for a complete and accurate count; work closely with Planning, Purchasing, Receiving, and Cost Accounting
- Serve as another point of contact for problem resolution and communicate information on inventory questions; provide status reports and follow up on urgent matters
- Work in different environments, such as warehouses, coolers, freezers, or/and outdoors
- Daily data entry into Thistle’s programs and systems
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of relevant experience in inventory control activities, including cycle and PI counts, reconciliation, and reporting required; fresh food inventory experience in a manufacturing environment is a big plus
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills(verbal & written) with attention to detail
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred
- Current Food Handlers card or willing to obtain one within the first 30 days of employment
- Attention to detail, organization, and willingness to re-prioritize according to production flow and schedules
- Ability to successfully and consistently meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to our company mission and values
- Tech-savvy approach with everyday tasks and communication; comfortable with G-Suite, Excel, and Slack, a big plus
- The person in this role will need to be comfortable with a physically demanding position with the ability to push frequently, pull, squat, bend, reach, and lift 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally; willing to work in a refrigerated environment(35-40 degrees) is required
