SUMMARY

The Inventory Control and Routing Agent is a fast paced central role within the organization that controls the flow of product throughout the business. This role is responsible for continuous manual and electronic analysis of inventory levels. The agent receives the product in various stages of its manufacturing lifecycle and routes it to the proper destinations, either internal or external for post processing operations or putting it in stock. This role also interfaces with partners, vendors and internal manufacturing managing, negotiating and planning lead times for just in time delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Continuously count, monitor and analyze inventory levels electronically and manually
  • Prepare reports for key stakeholders on inventory levels
  • Receive and examine contents, compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes
  • Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices, such as hand truck, conveyor, or sorting bins
  • Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, industrial tools and postage meter
  • Confer and correspond with partner representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials
  • Manage relationships and expectations with partners in terms of delivery times and pricing
  • Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, and demurrage charges, using calculator or price list
  • Adjust stock levels via inventory control software and web catalog management software including but not limited to Amazon, 3dCart, Big Commerce, OrderTime, eBay
  • Provide support and assistance to the product packing and shipping/receiving team as needed
  • NOTE: Other duties may be required that are not specifically called out in this document

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 to 4 years of warehouse/inventory experience is required
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and handheld devices (RF)
  • Experience in fast paced, high unit retail Distribution Center environment
  • Above average understanding of computer software, local and cloud based specifically: Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, 3dCart, Big Commerce, ShipStation, OrderTime, Amazon and eBay listing tools
  • Ability to understand, create and manipulate spreadsheets is a must
  • Excellent data entry and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication, written and verbal, skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • English or Bilingual preferred
  • Above average math skills is a must
  • Experience with firearms and firearm safety is preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, sit and climb or balance
  • Required to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to tolerate conditions associated with no air conditioning or heat

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
