Inventory Analyst (Port Clinton) Job at LEWCO, Inc.
SUMMARY: The Inventory Analyst will maintain the organization’s inventory, ordering, and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procurements. The Inventory Analyst will collect and analyze data on the organization’s logistics and provisioning functions. This data will be used to identify inefficiencies and cost-cutting opportunities and to implement improvements across the distribution network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.
- Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
- Provides inventory reports to Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager. Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the Purchasing or Inventory Control Manager.
- Monitors warehouse facilities to evaluate inventory transactions such as receiving, storage, shipping, and inventory integrity.
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory. Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
- Performs other related duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.
- At least five years of related experience required.
- High volume manufacturing experience in the metal forming and/or machine building industry.
- Experience influencing, leading, managing, and supervising others.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO, and other continuous improvement concepts.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, specifications, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Excellent computer skills required. Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and various data base applications. Previous use of ERP system preferred with knowledge in Syteline a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. Employee spends some time on shop floor. The majority of the time will be spent sitting in front of a computer and use of the phone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the position is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position works in both office and shop settings.
