Exciting Challenges
Broad Function and Purpose of Position:
Procurement of a series of commodities and/or services to maintain proper levels of inventory and maintaining optimum production and on time shipping. Review aged inventory to maximize material usage and lower scrap dollars.
- Review aged inventory and work with other departments to evaluate ways to reduced aged inventory.
- Evaluate aged inventory for customer charge backs when necessary.
- Work with production planners to reduce overproduction of aged material.
- Create weekly and monthly charts to track. Conduct cross functional meeting to discuss aged inventory.
- Review inventory dollars and recommend improvements to lower aged inventory dollars.
- After complete review identify parts that are required to be scrapped.
- Work with warehouse team to remove scrapped material and complete scrap transactions in SAP.
- Review open requirements, manage & schedule raw materials in support of production plans, expediting where necessary.
- Assure that problems relating to delivery, quality or pricing are promptly conveyed to the vendor and resolved in a timely manner per standard procedures.
- Assure that orders are entered into and updated within the computer system in an accurate and timely manner and that all order information is complete.
- Review invoices for purchased commodities as required by Accounts Payable. Assure that documentation is correct. Resolve discrepancy problems with Accounts Payable in a timely manner.
- Analyze/adjust inventory levels to coincide with lead time changes. Update lead times in SAP.
- Review and place purchase orders for MRO requests and all office supplies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to reflect corporate guidelines and plant objectives for inventory.
Skills you`ll need
Qualifications/Experience/Education:
- 3 year’s experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or similar field.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and maintain high standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong listening skills.
- Computer literacy & strong analytical skills. Able to work with cross functional teams
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
