  • meet or exceed a specified sales goal within a territory to drive sales of retirement plans by working with financial advisors and sales intermediaries on prospective retirement plan clients.
  • conduct 6 Sales Conversations or 20 phone engagements per day.
  • a sales Conversation is defined as a live interaction with an advisor/consultant/TPA where we uncover a new prospect, advance an existing opportunity, or advance the relationship by delivering a clear Value Proposition. A phone engagement is anything else (VM, Message, short conversation) we undertake while attempting the above.
  • provide dedicated sales support and service through proactive calling and web-based meetings.
  • document all engagement in CRM software for tracking and monitoring
  • demonstrate excellent listening skills to better assess a financial advisor or sales intermediary’s needs and determine the type of sales support necessary to accomplish the objective and add value to the products.
  • actively participate in the development and successful execution of the territory business plan.
  • develop and foster relationships with financial advisors and sales intermediaries to become a trusted and ongoing sales resource.
  • engage with internal recordkeeping partners to work towards shared business goals in business development, sales execution and overcoming sales obstacles to meet or exceed specific sales goals
  • productively work together and collaborate with other home office departments.
  • consult with financial advisors or sales intermediaries to determine the best fit for a client’s retirement plan needs and order the proposal from our recordkeeping partners.

Your team

You’ll be joining the Workplace Wealth Sales & Business Development team in Weehawken, NJ, reporting directly to the Retirement Plan Consulting Head of Sales and Relationship Management. This team is focused on driving corporate client sales and acquisition.

UBS provides financial wellness and wealth management services to corporate plan sponsors and plan participants. Our goal is to: (1) provide effective corporate solutions to drive new and retain existing corporate relationships and (2) provide insight and advice to participants regarding their financial wellness to drive additional wealth management business.

Your expertise

  • bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in institutional client facing role and either direct and/or intermediary retirement plan sales
  • detailed knowledge of retirement plans, namely 401(k) plans, and investment fiduciary activity
  • knowledge and understanding of recordkeeping and administrative services providers, their roles, responsibilities, platform and investment alternatives
  • specific knowledge of investment products (e.g., Mutual Funds, CITs, Separate Accounts)
  • strong sales, business development and consultative skills
  • excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • ability to collaborate across the organization, influence key stakeholders, and driving change
  • ability to lead, prioritize and execute on multiple concurrent priorities/initiatives
  • ability to drive change across an organization and influence key stakeholders
  • CRPS or other industry designation a plus
  • Series 7 and 66 licensed (or 63 and 65)
  • strong communicator with compelling presentation skills, including the use of technology to communicate ideas and strategy
  • willing to travel up to 20% of the time
