DII is seeking a knowledgeable and dynamic Learning & Development Specialist to help our team members reach their full potential. The ideal candidate has worked as a commercial lines account manager for at least 3 years and has ideally held a supervisory or team lead position for 1 year. This person has a deep knowledge of commercial P&C and has the ability to quickly learn personal lines as well as employee benefits and bonds. This role requires an enthusiastic and helpful disposition and a passion for sharing knowledge and helping others to succeed.

Duties & Responsibilities
· Develop a comprehensive training program for new hires at all levels from entry to management in all departments. Partner with department managers and HR to assess the training needs of new and existing team members.
· Act as point person for employee questions on insurance, learning resources, continuing education, and access to knowledge databases.
· Assist team members with licensing requirements. This includes scheduling licensing classes and exams for those who are new to insurance and ensuring that already-licensed employees are on track with continuing education classes. Partner with local organizations to offer in-house CE classes.
· Support team members who wish to pursue a professional designation by communicating the requirements for the designation, helping them to enroll, tracking progress and costs, and offering guidance throughout the process.
Qualifications & Skills
· At least 3 years of experience as a commercial lines account manager
· 1 year in a supervisor, team lead, or other role requiring the training/development of a team member preferred
· Professional designation such as CIC or CPCU
· Experience with Applied Epic preferred
· Active Maryland Property & Casualty License
