What you’ll be doing:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. Support all accounting processes, through effective, efficient and regulatory (SOX) compliant finance processes, and in accordance with local and consolidated Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close for parent and insurance companies
- Monthly review of assigned balance sheet and income statement account by preparing supporting schedules
- Coding of standard Accounts Payable invoices including settlement payments, third party administrator payments, insurance broker payments, as well as other insurance related invoices
- Record bank transactions
- Prepare insurance premium tax filings and payments as needed
- Prepare and review prepaid schedules
- Monthly calculation of insurance expense accruals
- Account for self-insured benefits
- Review financial statements for accuracy and perform variance analysis
- Calculating and recording monthly premium payments and yearly allocations
- Ensure financial statements adhere to GAAP/STAT
- Assist with the insurance companies and parent company's financial audits
- Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements and accounting policies and procedures
- Coordinate with the Accounting Department on special projects
- Coordinate with Risk Management, Safety & Insurance Department on special projects
- Continually striving to fine tune processes to perform at optimum efficiency
- Interacts and collaborates effectively with employees at all levels with courtesy and respect.
- Performs any other duties as assigned at the discretion of Management.

- Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products with expert level Microsoft Excel skills.
Who/What we are looking for :
- You have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- You have two years of experience in accounting or finance
