Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Insulator I in Portsmouth, VA.

Summary: Under immediate supervision applies insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems, as well as bulkheads, overheads, and other surfaces in order to help control and maintain temperature.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses basic tools such as knife, tape measure, scissors, and sharpening stone.
• Removes and seals insulation.
• Covers, seals, or finishes insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
• Determines the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use.
• Fits insulation around obstructions, and shapes insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
• Prepares surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum 1 1/2 -3 years’ experience as a marine insulator
• Ability to understand measurements
• Ability to travel throughout the US and out of country with some travel to be for extended times frames
