We are currently seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to provide engineering support for routine daily operation of plant units and engineering support for the plant’s Process Control System, (PCS).

About the Position
- Responsible for design, management, and execution of instrumentation projects.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation problems and issues, develop alternatives; propose and implement solutions for long term reliability.
- Carry out various studies to improve instrumentation system safety, reliability, and economics.
- Provide engineering analysis and evaluation of instrumentation projects.
- Effectively interface with Operators, Mechanics, Supervisors, Construction Contractors and Management to complete projects on time and on budget to meet business objectives.
- Assess new instrumentation and control technologies and determine the right opportunities for their application.
Required Skills/ Abilities
- Ability to seek out customer’s needs and prioritize own work accordingly.
- Good written and oral communication skills, and able to work well with other plant groups in a cross-functional team.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control applications, including field instrumentation and safety systems.
- Familiarization with codes and standards. Ensure application of suitable industry codes and standards in selection, construction and usage of instrumentation/electrical equipment and system.
- Good meeting facilitation skills and able to help teach/mentor others
- Be in good standing with DISA and valid TWIC are required.
- Must be authorized to work for any U.S. Employer
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5 to 10 years of experience working in refinery or petrochemical plant operations and/or with a consulting firm representing similar industries.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
- Exposure to outdoors
- Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
