About the Position

• Responsible for design, management, and execution of instrumentation projects.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation problems and issues, develop alternatives; propose and implement solutions for long term reliability.
• Carry out various studies to improve instrumentation system safety, reliability, and economics.
• Provide engineering analysis and evaluation of instrumentation projects.
• Effectively interface with Operators, Mechanics, Supervisors, Construction Contractors and Management to complete projects on time and on budget to meet business objectives.

• Assess new instrumentation and control technologies and determine the right opportunities for their application.

Required Skills/ Abilities

• Ability to seek out customer’s needs and prioritize own work accordingly.
• Good written and oral communication skills, and able to work well with other plant groups in a cross-functional team.

• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control applications, including field instrumentation and safety systems.
• Familiarization with codes and standards. Ensure application of suitable industry codes and standards in selection, construction and usage of instrumentation/electrical equipment and system.
• Good meeting facilitation skills and able to help teach/mentor others
• Be in good standing with DISA and valid TWIC are required.
• Must be authorized to work for any U.S. Employer

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• 5 to 10 years of experience working in refinery or petrochemical plant operations and/or with a consulting firm representing similar industries.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
• Exposure to outdoors
• Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
