At EMS University LLC we are seeking qualified individuals interested in instructing initial EMT certification courses and EMT/CEP refresher courses; as well as individuals to instruct CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens classes to groups and individuals both on-site and off-site.

Instructor Job Description

*The instructor's job is to ensure that as many students successfully complete their course as is possible while at the same time strictly adhering to policy, guidelines, and regulations. The instructor is an integral part of the EMS University, LLC team and responsible for ensuring student success. * THIS IS PART-TIME, 4 to 20 Hours a week. * Monday-Friday (Days/Evenings) * Weekends (Days)

Duties and Responsibilities

*Ensures efficiency and strict adherence to the daily schedule. *Prepares and carries out lesson plans and other student activities *Teaches students using a variety of techniques including, but not limited to didactic lecture, practical demonstration, monitoring of group activities as well as evaluation. *Collects, reviews, and assesses student work. *Coordinates activities with other personnel to ensure student success. *Finds, evaluates, and addresses deficiencies which may occur during class. *Evaluates student performance during the course on a continual basis. *Ensures fair and honest reporting of student evaluations. *Ensures proper compliance with state and national guidelines/regulations relating to examination procedures. *Keeps information confidential as per guidelines. *Attendance of regular and/or special instructor meetings. *Attendance of regular and/or special instructor training. *Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

One of the following:

*Current State EMT Certification *Current State Advanced EMT Certification *Current State Paramedic Certification *Registered Nurse

Preferred Criterion (Not Required)

*Bachelor's Degree *EMS Instructional Strategies Course *NREMT Certification

Skills

*A thorough understanding of EMS training equipment. *Ability to work two shifts a month. (Minimum) *A thorough understanding of prehospital care. (Emergency/non-emergency) *A basic understanding of technology (for scheduling, attendance, communication, etc.)

Experience

One of the following:

*2 Years of Experience as an EMT *2 Years of Experience as an Advanced EMT *2 Years of Experience as a Paramedic *Instructional Experience is Preferred *2 Years of Experience as an RN

EMS University, LLC - San Diego has been providing instruction to EMTs, the general public and heathcare professionals for Basic Life Programs. In 2014, we began offering Paramedic Refresher courses and CE for all EMS providers. We are certified by the County of San Diego EMS Authority and California EMS Authority to provide CE for recertification. Additionally, we are accredited by CECBEMS to offer CE courses across the country. EMS University, LLC - San Antonio was established in 2011. We began our company, mainly as a provider of BLS Classes, including CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens. Early on, our focus was geared towards early childhood care providers, however, in 2013, we obtained accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) which has enabled us to offer Continuing Education training to EMS professionals. We currently offer the EMT Refresher course and will be offering Paramedic Refresher courses in the future.
