Instructional Team Leader - Intermediate Job at Shepherd Independent School District
Primary Purpose:
The Instructional Team Leader serves as a colleague with the campus administrators and classroom teachers to support student learning. The job of the Instructional Team Leader was established for the purpose(s) of promoting the integration of instructional programs at the building level; facilitating team problem solving and the monitoring of the academic success of all students on the assigned team; and collaborating with the principal and other teachers on the building leadership team.
The Instructional Team Leader (ITL) will be a full-time teacher; this is a stipend position;
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Texas teaching certification, content/grade-level/program appropriate to assignment
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Deep knowledge of the subject matter
Expertise in district instructional resources, pedagogical methods, and evidence-based best practices Exhibits strong leadership and collaboration skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates the ability to model evidence-based instructional practices in classrooms Skilled in diagnosing and resolving instructional challenges
Demonstrates the ability to create, implement, monitor, and evaluate professional development
Demonstrates the ability to positively impact systematic change within the campus
Skilled in technology, including software such as the Eduphoria, Renaissance Learning
Experience:
Master teacher who has embedded appropriate evidence-based, differentiated instructional practices that have resulted in high levels of student progress
Master teacher who has demonstrated successful classroom management that facilitates a high level of student engagement
Teacher leader who has demonstrated high efficacy as evidenced by student achievement and administrative observations by campus and district personnel
District Expectations:
ITL's will report to the campus principal and to the Teaching and Learning Department as needed.
ITL's will collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Department after state-mandated testing in May to work on summer school, curriculum revisions, instructional resources, benchmark assessments. etc.
