JOB SUMMARY The Install Manager is responsible for managing all aspects and functions of assigned plumbing installation projects to include direct oversight for planning, coordinating, and directing activities of the installation department; maintaining a workforce consistent with business activity; scheduling projects to ensure profitability, timely completion, and maximum customer satisfaction; communication of installation information to proper personnel to allow for effective planning and execution of project requirements; as well as management and development of employees to create a positive work environment.
JOB DUTIES

Direct oversight of dispatching, ordering, warehousing, truck inventory and maintenance, and tool inventory and maintenance.

Oversees the building and completion of installation job packets to include:
  • Ensuring complete and accurate forms in job folders.
  • Accurate ordering of materials to complete each installation
  • Approves assignment of installation crews to each installation job.
  • Oversees the coordination of materials procurement with approved vendors for maximum efficiency and cost.
Inventory management to include:
  • Overseeing the tracking of all unused materials
  • Returning what can be returned.
  • Reusing what can be reused on another job.
  • Overseeing the inventory of all truck and warehouse material and product stock.
Maintains safety and quality as a top priority by:
  • Scheduling and conducting monthly safety meetings.
  • Conducting regular job site inspections.
  • Conducting regular truck inspections.
Permits filing for installations requiring local permits to commence job.

Maintains departmental budget expectations to include job costing analysis of completed jobs.

Assists salespersons in evaluation of appropriate products and pricing for clients.

Conducts job pre-inspections for ease of installation, materials cost control and safety of install team.

Oversees and tracks scrap recycling program to maximize departmental revenue.

Obtains necessary company certifications as required.

Participates in all company sponsored training classes.

Travels with employees to training functions as required.

Conducts employee engagement to include:
  • Definition of training schedules for advancement of all departmental employees
  • Identification of strengths and weakness and design of appropriate training programs for each employee to maximize full potential.
  • Effectively manages conflict resolution with clients through clear communication, addressing all concerns, questions, or problems expediently.
  • Recruits potential department hires.
  • Weekly communication with regards to hiring and manpower planning.

Always maintains a professional image at all times by:
  • Wearing only company approved and provided Ben Franklin apparel.
  • Following safety policies and procedures.
  • Abiding by ALL Ben Franklin standards of performance and code of ethics.
  • Maintaining a courteous demeanor with all customers and associates.
  • Maintaining company vehicle, ensuring cleanliness and organization, both inside and out.
  • Respecting the customer’s property.

Suggested Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Knowledge of the fundamental of operational functionality of residential and light commercial plumbing equipment and systems.
  • Knowledge of the layout and installation requirements for residential and light commercial Plumbing.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of current plumbing products to include water treatment and tankless water heaters..
  • Required knowledge of local codes and permitting requirements.
  • Dispatcher background required.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Solid communication and customer service skills.
  • Large group office management experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Suggested Educational/certification requirements:
  • GED or High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 5 years of verifiable Plumbing residential, light commercial experience.

Suggested Environmental conditions:
  • General office environment.
  • Extended work hours to include day and/or evening shifts.

Suggested Physical requirements:
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and may be exposed to verbal and/or physical confrontations.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and to maneuver in attics, basements, and crawl spaces to access plumbing systems.
  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Natural or corrected vision to see and focus for close, distance, peripheral vision with normal depth perception.
  • Work assignments may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation to a known disability.
  • Advanced Degree and/or 5+ years of successful home services experience with a track record of increasing responsibility with past employers in the same or similar industry
  • Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
