Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm - M-F with infrequent Saturdays

Inside Sales / Counter Sales Associate

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales/Counter Sales Associate will work with customers to provide the best possible experience and service. They are responsible for inside sales, cash and credit handling and ensuring the customer is well-informed. There may be other duties that will be assigned. Candidate must be physically able to perform the essential duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing and growing all contractor and homeowner sales for the business and providing proper training and support for inside and outside sales staff.
  • Ensure all customers receive excellent customer service in an efficient, timely, professional, and respectful manner.
  • Direct contact for all equipment sales, qualifying the customer needs while also providing Superior service and vendor interactions.
  • Lead role in supporting the equipment purchasing for the division.
  • Direct responsibility for ensuring the Equipment and Power Tools showroom and display areas are organized, signed, cleaned and presented in a professional manner on a daily basis.
  • Candidate will be the point person in handling equipment customer inquiries from the internet, online shopping cart, internal and external communications and follow up.
  • Performs basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Manages and prioritize tasks and projects.
  • Has competent problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Shows initiative in all aspects of the role.
  • Detail-oriented and takes pride in their work.
  • Effectively interprets and apply policies and procedures.
  • Stocks and organizes supplies; keeps shelves clean and orderly.
  • Assists with sales registers, including cash and credit handling.
  • Assists others as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • A flexible schedule, 40 hrs (occasional Overtime and Saturdays).
  • Customer service skills and professional appearance required.
  • Valid Drivers’ License.
  • Construction knowledge a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Previous sales experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be comfortable with prolonged periods standing.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must be comfortable with heights and working on ladders, lifts, rooftops.
  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work overtime hours on occasion, as well as some Saturdays when needed.
