FUNCTION

Under the general direction of the Community Health supervisor, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate public health initiatives for drug overdose prevention. Apply population-based policy, systems, and environmental change concepts and strategies to drug overdose prevention initiatives.

JOB DUTIES

· Function as a member of an interdisciplinary team that works to identify and address systems change needs related to drug overdose and prevention.

· Responsible for the Drug Overdose Prevention Grant, which includes creating and implementing grant objectives, work plan, budget, and quarterly grant reporting.

· Ability to lead or facilitate meetings with community partners in the fields of addiction and mental health, including first responders and law enforcement.

· Collect, analyze, and interpret statistical, demographic, socio-cultural, and other data

· Other Public Health Nurse duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of experience working in drug overdose prevention efforts or addiction counseling is preferred.

Must have clear oral and written communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Competent and proficient in basic computer skills.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, health education, epidemiology, or other related fields. A valid Ohio driver's license with ongoing proof of auto insurance and reliable transportation.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time (40 hours/5 days per week) position with usual hours M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements and Unusual Working Conditions: Be able to lift objects of weight up to forty (40) pounds. Requires travel.

COMPENSATION: Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Ohio Public Employee’s Retirement System (PERS). Paid vacation, personal day, holidays, and sick leave. Tuition reimbursement is available.

SALARY: $28.88 - $36.85/hr.
