Injection Molding Lead Technician

Here is an exciting opportunity for an experienced plastic injection molding expert to join a well-established medical device company in Hebron, Illinois.

Here, you will be coordinating and directing the activities of 100-150 employees involved in both machine operation and packing, whilst manufacturing vital medical devices in the process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinating, coaching, and supervising production personnel in injection mold troubleshooting.
• Creating and executing preventative & maintenance schedules
• Conducting performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees
• Ensuring efficient labor and machine performance, maintaining production statistics and trends
• Assisting in decision making processes regarding cycle standards and process changes, and assisting technicians and process engineers with maintaining proper set-up standardization and overall work flow
• Supervising and executing the installation and/or maintenance of all hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and electrical manufacturing and assembly equipment
• Frequent safety inspections with follow-through reporting and corrective action
• Shift-to-shift transitions
• Daily production schedules and regular meetings to assist in establishing priorities and assignment of tasks
• Continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years plastic injection molding experience
• Great verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before groups of employees and leaders of the organization
• Math and IT skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
