General Purpose
An Infrastructure Facilities Specialist is an employee who: (a) is responsible for inspections of all PacifiCorp Overhead and Underground facilities including Joint Use; (b) uses laptop and mobile data devices to perform loading calculations; (c) assists with inventory verification and compliance audits; (d) prepares reports, processes notices, enters data as directed; (e) communicates with customers and other utilities; and (f) performs other duties relating to Infrastructure work as assigned.
Responsibilities
Field Verification and inspection of underground and overhead installations, attachments, configurations and conditions according to NESC codes and RMP Construction Standards, procedures and policies.
Document and report all underground and overhead installations, attachments, configurations and conditions as instructed.
Document all pole attachments including PacifiCorp distribution, and 3rd party attachments such as telecommunication and cable company attachments.
Use laser and insulated measuring sticks to determine height and clearance of communication facilities.
Enter pole attachment data into electronic handheld device - Use a laptop computer and other mobile data device to record infrastructure (pole and attachment) condition data.
Walk / Drive throughout assigned area to complete Joint-Use / facility FPI inspections
Use maps and other asset data to locate poles for Joint-Use / Facility inspections
Works with 3rd parties (telecommunication and cable) as required to verify attachments and resolve conflicts
Follows inspection processes/methods
Applies pole standards to inspections

Requirements
- Applicant will be required to pass the following prior to award of position:
- Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year experience performing Overhead Power facilities and NESC inspections.
- Meter Reader Fitness for Duty
- Must be able to type 15 WPM
- Must be able to show Computer proficiency (basic computer navigation, MS Excel, MS Word) Testing to be administered by 3rd party (prior to bid award).
- Position requires working outside in inclement weather, walking and hiking on uneven surfaces in some instances and lifting arms above head to measure distances.
- Education/Experience: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Certificates and Licenses: Valid driver's license
- Progression:
- The position would have a one step progression. Upon completion of the training program, and a maximum of 18 months or a minimum of 12 months, the employee would progress from Field Specialist Trainee to Field Specialist. Other Skills And Abilities: Ability to learn pole standards and inspection processes.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
