Your Deliverables:

  • Clean up and complete the inventory in AD/SCCM/Jamf Pro/CMDB (Jira project). This will involve some investigation to try and hunt down what has happened to individual devices and identify why they may not have checked into our MDMs for some time.
  • Investigate and resolve individual cases of Macs, PCs and iOS devices which are not updating the OS versions despite the forced update process.
  • Investigate and resolve individual cases of Macs, PCs and iOS devices which are not updating their software, especially those cases which our vulnerability management software (Tenable) has reported as high risk.

Skill Set:

  • Experience with Windows, SCCM and troubleshooting the SCCM OS and software package update process.
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience with MacOS, iOS, Jamf Pro and troubleshooting the Jamf Pro MacOS and software package update process.
  • Experience with Jira would be a bonus, but not required – a quick learner will pick up what is needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • The ability to wrangle data from our various systems AD/SCCM/Jamf Pro/CMDB (Jira project) in Excel in order to identify inconsistencies and gaps in data.
  • A high level of aversion to gaps in the data, and a strong need to fill them. (Someone without attention to detail, who cannot even see the gaps will not work)
  • To be extremely comfortable emailing, picking up the phone with, and making video calls with our staff. (Someone who is quiet/shy and lacking in communication skills will not work)
  • Empathetic yet firm and persistent, able to walk the line between pestering our users to make time for troubleshooting sessions and installing updates, but also knowing when to back off whilst still getting a future commitment from the user and not forgetting or giving up on them.
