SFS is looking for an Information Technology Generalist to support their Headquarters office located in Loch Lynn, MD.


This position performs everyday management of corporate IT resources by managing all user systems and providing Administrator services to IT infrastructure which includes (but is not limited to) endpoints running Windows and Chrome operating systems, networked printers, internal networking devices and peripherals, and cloud-based platforms including Google Workspace. It will also include researching, procuring, installing, configuring, and maintaining software, applications, drivers, and add-ons related to the resources listed above, and other future resources. The IT generalist position installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs and/or updates to personal computer hardware, peripherals, and software systems, and provides technical advice and support to system users. Provides IT support for process improvements to existing and potential business workflows and internal processes, using Google applications and other appropriate tools for cost-effective, collaborative, secure, and efficient solutions addressing both internal as well as customer-facing requirements.


  • Connects users to networks and cloud services as necessary, and provides initial training in use, features, and applications.
  • Administers e-mail and malware systems.
  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components, and office applications, and configures endpoints for connectivity to a local network.
  • Assists in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements.
  • Provides telephone, in-person, and online support to end-users.
  • Coordinates activities with third-party service providers and information systems groups.
  • Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.
  • Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
  • Serves as a liaison between the company and third-party IT, Security, and Compliance consultants, auditors, and certifiers.
  • Identifies and procures the hardware, software, accessories, and supplies needed to satisfy user requirements, including configuration and maintenance of firewalls, switches, and routers.
  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives on users’ company-provided IT equipment.
  • Designs, builds, and maintains public- and private-facing webpages and portals.
  • Provides direct technical support to off-site SFS employees by managing networks and virtual connectivity through remote connections and real-time solutions.
  • Assists with new hire orientations and setting up office spaces
  • Conducts office inventory on equipment and furniture, including hardware and software issues and on-going administration of IT equipment and components.
  • Responsible for company-wide IT security review and documentation.
  • Assists with ISO and Quality audits, preparations for audits, and actions as the result of audit findings.
  • Other IT and Security duties as assigned.
  • Assists with front desk support and answering incoming calls.


Qualifications
:

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and or experience in Information Technology


Skills

  • Reading, writing, and grammar skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems for users
  • Ability to independently resolve widely varying complex problems using current job knowledge as well as other research and external resources
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and related / third-party applications and support
  • Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Google cloud base platform


Experience:

  • 1-3 years of relative work experience
  • Hardware, software, networking, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) experience
