Infection Preventionist - Einstein Elkins Park Job at Jefferson - Montgomery County, PA
- Assists with the implementation of an infection control program which includes case finding, surveillance, inspections, control measures, education and consultations.
- This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) newborn through elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Attendance of the introductory ICP course offered by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology or its equivalent is required within 1 year of employment.
- Infection Prevention experience preferred.
- Two years general duty nursing experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 3 years general duty nursing experience.
- Bachelor's degree with education and 3 years experience in Medical Technology, specifically microbiology is also acceptable.
- Current licensure to practice professional nursing in PA or equivalent education such as bachelor's degree and Medical Technology/microbiology background.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred.
- Individuals without CIC will be required to complete within 3 years and be supervised by a CIC practitioner until certification is fulfilled.
