The Manor at Greendale***** a FIVE STAR facility *****Seeks an eager Infection Control Nurse to manage and implement the Infection Control Programs within the Care Community.

Position Summary:

Evaluates quality of resident care and resident outcomes as they relate to healthcare associated/nosocomial infections.

Essential Functions:

• Because HCF exists to care for our residents, regular attendance and punctuality are essential to provide quality care
• Must be in good physical condition as the position requires the ability to stand on one’s feet throughout the day, as well as, push, pull, move and/or lift frequently a minimum of 10 pounds and up to greater than 50 pounds occasionally
• Commitment to HCF mission, values, philosophy and Service Excellence Initiative
• Must be able to complete performance requirements independently while using good judgment as well as have the ability to harmoniously work with others
• Must be able to read, write and understand the English language

Position Responsibilities:

• Must follow HCF Policies and Procedures
• Does on-going monitoring of health care associated/nosocomial infections
• Track trends in infection within the facility and report infection clusters to appropriate agencies required by state and local regulations.
• Identify infection control issues and make recommendations for corrective action
• Must meet job related competencies as outlined in the Skills Competency Manual
• Monitors infection control practices and employee compliance
• Ensures compliance with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and Tuberculosis Control Plan
• Reports communicable disease to the state as required by law
• Attend required in-service education, presents Infection Control in-services
• Participates in the QA process and “Nurse On-Call” program
• Communicates effectively with residents, staff and visitors
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and abilities:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse (PA/OH)/Licensed Practical Nurse (OH only) with the State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification recommended. Certification in Infection Control is desired.
