Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City has an opening for a Infection Control Nurse. We are a residential certified facility licensed and Joint Commission accredited. Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City offers adolescents residential services. We are seeking individuals to join our team who is committed to improving the lives of who’s impacted by mental illness.

JOB SUMMARY: Manages operations of the Infection Control program, while evaluating quality of patients care and patient outcomes as they relate to healthcare-associated infections. Responsible for implementing and coordinating programs which includes surveillance, analysis of data, developing reports, policies and procedures with recommendations to prevent adverse actions. Directs the effort of all Performance Improvement initiatives by providing consultation, education, competent, efficient data to staff, physicians and residents, ensuring overall compliance with all regulatory standards including federal/state and accrediting organizations.

The Infectious Control RN responsibilities include the following:

  • Identifying infectious disease processes
  • Gathering, analyzing, and presenting infectious data, facts, and trends to other healthcare professionals and medical staff
  • Educating and training healthcare staff in protocol to limit and contain infectious pathogens
  • Decreasing rates of infection within a facility
  • Conducting research studies on infectious agents and diseases
  • Determining the origins of infectious disease and pathogen outbreaks
  • Developing and implementing plans to prevent patients from spreading communicable diseases throughout the hospital and community
  • Implementing and enforcing infection control practices and guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Educating patients
  • Reviewing and assessing occupational and employee health
  • Working alongside research scientists and doctors in order to develop new methods for treating infectious disease

Qualified candidates should have the following:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • A minimum of two (2) year experience in Infection Control methodology in hospital facility, psychiatric service delivery system with specific knowledge and skills in areas of risk management.
  • APIC membership required within 6 months of hire.
  • Maintain CPR certification, first aid training, SAMA and TBRI.
