Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain machine shop equipment for the purpose of providing services in support of our high-speed, steel packaging manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform various manual or mechanical production functions by operating, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing the production equipment to meet customer specifications.
• Perform and assist in preventative maintenance on production equipment as required.
• Assist in the disassembly, overhaul and rebuilding of production equipment.
• Responsible for replenishing supplies, materials, parts and tooling required for efficient operations.
• Perform on-the-job training and development of assigned personnel.
• Perform record keeping duties as required under the direction of management.
• Communicate pertinent information to the next shift.
• Perform clean-up, painting and housekeeping duties.
• Initiate, review and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, the division, the group, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.effective work relationships within the department, the plant and the company. • Comply with established job safety practices, policies, and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for safe performance of the work assignment.

• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school education, General Education Development (GED) or through equivalent work experience.
• Job related experience for 3 years minimum.
• Ability to apply intensive and diversified mechanical evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Ability to identify product defects.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Strong mechanical background (hydraulics, pneumatics), various hand and powered tools.
• Ability to effectively instruct and train other employees.
• Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
• Must be able to organize, plan and prioritize.
• Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to detail.
• Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills.
• Works in a manufacturing environment.
• This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
• Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.
