Industrial Maintenance Technician Job at Fives DyAG Corp.
Fives Group is looking for skilled Maintenance Technicians in the Mobile, AL area.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Fives Group Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining industrial equipment used in a variety of manufacturing systems, including but not limited to: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, robotics systems, etc. and their related components in manufacturing/industrial automation settings. This position requires an advanced level of knowledge in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance with a variety of specialized systems and peripheral equipment. Individuals in this position must also possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints/electrical/engineering drawings in order to troubleshoot issues and perform required repairs in a timely fashion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of industrial automation/manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to: performing root cause analyses to locate problems, disassembly of devices and equipment to examine parts for irregularities and perform required repairs, testing and debugging repaired devices, mechanical systems reconditioning and repair, electrical troubleshooting and rewiring, etc.
- Identifying and sourcing needed parts, supplies, and related materials to repair items and equipment as required
- Evaluating and analyzing alternative solutions to improve the reliability and cost of broken down equipment
- Performing maintenance tasks independently in accordance with industry/company/client standards
- Creating or assisting in the creation of maintenance standards and operating instructions for upgraded or altered equipment
- Coaching other employees and training customer personnel on maintenance, troubleshooting, process optimization, and other related processes
- Setting up and operating machining equipment such as lathes, grinders, presses, and other machining tools as required to make and/or repair parts, certain repairs or fabrication may require welding tasks as well
- Adhering to all company, client, and industry standards and safety standards at all times
- Documenting all work performed in service reports, management systems, and recording and analyzing performance data
- Creating work instructions/technical manuals for equipment operation, maintenance, and repair processes
- Assisting other technicians and project teams in maintenance tasks
QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:
- 2 -10+ years of Maintenance Technician experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting working on various types of mechanical and electrical systems
- An Associate's Degree or a Certificate of Completion from a Technical Program focused on Mechatronics or a related field is preferred
- An in-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems
- The ability to quickly analyze problems, create alternative solutions, and perform required repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner
- The ability to read and comprehend blueprints, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics
- Prior experience working with and editing/troubleshooting PLC/HMI and Robotic programs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc.) is a plus
- Prior field service/on-site maintenance experience with mechanical and electrical systems as well as drives, motors, variable frequency drives, servos, and other motion control devices
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with a wide variety of mechanical and electrical components
- Strong experience using hand and power tools, multimeters, and other tools
- The ability to work both independently and as a part of a team, as well as the flexibility to adapt to sudden changes in priorities and assigned duties
OTHER DETAILS:
- Candidate's preferred shifts will be taken into consideration and accommodated within reason; however, flexibility regarding day, afternoon, or night shift is a plus
- Occasional overtime and some weekend work may be required and candidates will be compensated accordingly
