Qualifications

An HVAC Sheet-metal Journeyman shall demonstrate the following competencies:

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings
  
• Ability to work overhead from ladders, man lifts, scaffold, etc.
  
• Ability to detail duct & duct fittings for fabrication in the field and from drawings
  
• Ability to layout, install, seal duct systems
  
• Ability to make field modifications to duct-work to fit unforeseen site conflicts
  
• Ability to safely rig and set large / heavy equipment
  
• Must possess and be proficient in the use of hand tools related to the trade
  
• Must possess the ability to read and use a tape measure
  
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  
• Ensures all activities are carried out according to established specifications and schedules.
  
• Ensures all work documentation is fully and accurately completed.
  
• Produce quality work promptly.
  
• Adhere to company safety standards and protocols.
  
• Responsible for keeping and maintaining a clean workspace.

The following items are preferable; however, they are not required:

• Ability to install refrigeration piping systems
  
• Ability to terminate electrical wiring at various HVAC equipment
  
• Knowledge of CHW / HW systems
  
• Capable of effectively directing apprentices.

General Requirements

• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening
  
• Ability to pass a physical ability test
  
• Willingness to work flexible schedule (including weekend projects, as needed
  
• 18 years of age or older
  
• Valid driver s license with clean driving record
  
• 5 years experience Commercial and Industrial HVAC installation is preferred
  
• 5 years experience as HVAC sheet metal mechanic is preferred
  
• OSHA 10 certification is preferred but not required
  
• High school diploma or equivalent
  
• Have and maintain a professional image
  
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as required
  
• Excellent communication skills
  
• Must be willing to travel overnight as required
