HVAC Mechanic I - Outpatient Pavilion

Fisherville, VA

Description

Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems and Equipment at the main hospital building as well as at satellite facilities. Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs various types of heating, ventilation. air conditioning and refrigeration equipment. Participates in the hospital preventive maintenance (PM) program.

Education Required

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Formal HVAC System Training in air conditioning and refrigeration systems from a Vocational School or Military Technical School.

Experience

• Minimum of three years commercial or industrial facility operations and maintenance (O&M) experience.

Licensure

• Must hold a current motor vehicle driver’s license.

• Must hold an EPA Certification (Universal Level) for refrigerant handling.

• Within 6 months of hire, must obtain a license as a HVAC Mechanic as issued by the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) at the Journeyman level or above.

Skills

• Demonstrated skills with O&M of stand-alone HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, heaters and boilers.
