The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds, maintains, and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in support of the university's education, research, and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers that beautify the grounds.

Physical Plant is the largest FP&M organizational unit and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of campus buildings, grounds, and utilities. Design resources, construction by the trades, and specialized facilities services are available for departmental requests and remodeling projects on a fee-for-service basis.

Assists with facility and equipment inspection, maintenance, and repairs to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. Assists with construction, and meeting and event preparation as needed.

- Work experience in maintenance and/or construction
- Ability to practice workplace safety
- Excellent customer service

- Previous work experience with heating and ventilation equipment
- Previous work experience with farm equipment, automobiles, house furnaces/heating units, landscaping, and similar HVAC or Mechanical equipment
- Ability to understand how HVAC systems work and how to diagnose problems with HVAC systems

Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles listed in this posting. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. The minimum hourly rate for HVAC Maintenance Technician I is $22/hour and for HVAC Maintenance Technician II is $25/hour.
