Summary:

Security Services Holdings d/b/a Protos Security is looking for an onsite Human Resources Manager to work 2-3 days a week at one of our subsidiaries, Squad Security, at our New York, location.

The HR Manager will be responsible for New York Security compliance and assisting in the general operations of the HR function for Squad Security in our Uniondale, NY, office to ensure effectiveness and excellence in processes and procedures, policies, and other HR systems/programs. As part of the human resources team, the HR Manager ensures that workplace needs are being met in the form of administrative duties pertaining to new hires, compliance reporting, and assisting with employee discipline procedures. The HR Manager typically handles clerical duties as well. Additionally, this individual will be expected to adapt and grow with the responsibilities of their position as duties are added/removed and procedures are changed periodically with the growth of the company.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Audit the New York location to check and monitor Security compliance with relevant New York and Federal legislation
  • Assist the Office Manager in developing and implementing improvement plans
  • Prepares new hire orientation packages on an ongoing basis
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientations and employee training requirements.
  • Enter information into the company employee databases as necessary
  • Assist new employees with the uniform process to ensure compliance with company policy
  • Complete and submit required reports for licensing purposes
  • Communicates with employee regarding inquiries generated in person, email and from phone calls in accordance with company policy
  • Assist the Office Manager with duties as assigned
  • Assist in screening resumes and scheduling interviews as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in related field required
  • At least 2+ years Human Resources experience required
  • Previous experience in a Human Resources capacity preferred
  • Working knowledge of New York employment laws a plus
  • Prior experience with multi-state locations is a plus
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems and databases; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred

  • HRIS Systems (ADP Workforce Now)
  • Spreadsheet Software (Excel) intermediate level
  • Word Processing Software (Word)
  • Presentation Software (PowerPoint)

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications

  • Experience in the HR Field within Security
  • Excellent judgment and discretion; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress is required
  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude
  • Must be able to multi-task and work independently and productively with minimum supervision
  • Recognize problems, identify possible causes, and resolve routine problems
  • Team player with a "can do" attitude that can work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work outside of regular business hours which will include nights and weekends to meet deadlines


Travel:

Travel is expected for approximately 10%

Salary Range:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
