Position Summary

This position is to assist in the development, implementation, execution, and support of human resources policies, procedures, and programs in the areas of recruitment and selection, employment, employee relations, performance management, personnel records, employee benefits, compensation and other human resources programs and services.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:
 Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
 Assists in the development, maintenance and communication of legal and prudent Human Resources policies.
 Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
 Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
 Leads human resources compliance efforts at the company’s headquarters location, ensuring the company’s human resources policies and procedures are implemented and followed at the location.
 Interviews candidates for employment and coordinates recruitment and selection activity for open positions at company headquarters including pre-employment screening, consistent with Dexter policies.
 Plans and conducts new employee orientation.
 Investigates accidents and prepares reports for governmental agencies including OSHA and for insurance carrier.
 Administers and tracks annual compliance training and training related to the Dexter Quality System.
 Assists with production and distribution of facility or company announcements.
 Leads community influence and takes an active part in effectively encouraging employee involvement in community activities.
 Provides training and support on goal planning and effective use of performance management system to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and timely completion within organization.
 Manages and effectively executes assigned projects.
 Conducts exit interviews for headquarters employees.
 Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a comparable discipline and at least 3 years human resources management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Suite. The ideal candidate will possess a proficient knowledge of labor laws and employee regulations.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift ten lbs. and to sit for extended periods of time. Long periods of walking while conducting on-site visits are required as well.
