Human Resources (HR)/Scheduler

We are seeking to add a highly organized and dynamic Human Resources Generalist/Scheduler to be part of our team and join a growing and dynamic administrative staff!

Our mission is to offer quality care to our residents, and to provide for them a loving and compassionate environment, attending carefully to their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the Human Resource department in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. To follow all company policies and apply them uniformly to all employees as directed by the site Administrator. This position is also responsible for ensuring qualified personnel are interviewed, trained and employed throughout the facility. Timely performance of all administrative tasks with regards to personnel actions will also be required.

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Participate in own employee performance evaluation, determining growth needs and goals.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with our established policies and procedures, and as instructed by your supervisors.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
  • Meet with administrator as needed, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services.
  • Report all complaints and grievances made by the resident.
  • Follows established personnel policies according to employee handbook as well as established policies and procedures.
  • Report absenteeism/call-ins to the Administrator.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Attends facility and corporate departmental meetings as required.
  • Complies with dress code.
  • Maintains current immunization record.
  • Maintains any and all required certifications/licensure.
  • Attends all mandatory personnel meetings.
  • As Department Head or Supervisory Role:
  • Assist in the recruitment, selection and training of competent personnel
  • Hire personnel in accordance with established hiring practices
  • Ensure that the facility has qualified personnel available to provide the best service for resident comfort and convenience
  • Arrange for pre-employment tests, physicals, X-rays, HBV vaccinations, etc., as outlined in our personnel policy manual.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each staff position in accordance with the Americans With Disabilities Act
  • Escort new personnel to assigned department director for instruction/training as required
  • Ensure that nurse aide data is verified or submitted to the Nurse Aide Registry on a timely basis
  • Assist in scheduling department work hours (including vacations and holiday schedules), personnel, work assignments, etc., as required or requested.
  • Assist department directors in establishing vacation schedules as necessary or required
  • Monitor Workman’s Compensation claims and coordinate work between employees and the insurance carrier
  • Counsel/discipline personnel as requested or necessary
  • Maintain attendance records and records of counseling, warning, and other disciplinary action taken against employees.
  • Ensure that grievance procedures are implemented, maintained and followed in accordance with our established policies. Review complaints and make oral/written reports to the Administrator and/or Director of Human Resources
  • Terminate employment of personnel, when necessary, documenting and coordinating such actions with the Department Director and Administrator.
  • Conduct exit interviews, and record data in the personnel records
  • Monitor unemployment claims and assist the facility with appeals
  • Maintain a good employee relations program that serves the best interest of the facility and community alike
  • Participate in employee performance evaluation, determining growth needs and goals
  • Report absentee call-ins to supervisor
  • Follows established personnel policies according to employee handbook as well as established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in scheduling Transportation and Appointments for Residents

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or “Related Field” Required.
  • One (1) year Human Resources experience required.
  • Previous long-term care experience is preferred.
  • Previous Recruitment and Payroll experience highly preferred.
