POSITION AVAILABLE: HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Due to our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST to join our team at OTTO!

JOB SUMMARY: This role will help us keep our plastic injection molding manufacturing plant running at optimum performance by helping to staff our team with the best matched talent available while leading the team in efforts to maintain positive employee morale to ensure OTTO continues to be a great place to work. This role with help keep all of our employees engaged, informed, and excited to be on the OTTO team.

Staffing:

  • Partner with the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Production Supervisors and our HR team with recruiting, onboarding, and maintaining good relations with all OTTO team employees. (both Hourly and Salary roles).
  • Work closely with our staffing agency partners to ensure we have a consistent workforce in place to meet the needs of our customers to produce quality products, on time, every time.
  • Lead external and internal recruiting efforts as needed to identify best match candidates for a variety of roles within the company.
  • Assist with communicating offers and working with Corporate HR to facilitate onboarding.
  • Facilitate New Hire paperwork, onboarding, and orientation.
  • Temporary labor management to include processing weekly time sheets, track temporary labor hours, processing invoices for payment, monitor temp progress with respect to eligibility to meet the terms for “temp to hire” requirements.
  • Monitor employee time and attendance (both full time and temporary staffing); assist with coaching for improvement as needed.

Record Keeping:

  • Create and maintain personnel files and confidentiality
  • Maintain all communication and documentation for employee records.
  • Maintenance of training documents and confirmations.
  • Compile reports for the Plant Manager and HR as necessary
  • Assist Employment Manager with EEO reporting and Affirmative Action Plans
  • Assist Payroll & Benefits Administrator with all communication, documentation, implementation of all employee payroll and benefits information.

Training:

  • Conduct New Hire Orientation to include company policies and procedures, employee handbook, attendance policy, schedules, company communications, safety in the workplace, benefits overview, pay process, time clocks, break times and more.
  • Maintain personnel training records.
  • Host / or assist in employee training events.

Employee Relations:

  • This role will be the first point of contact for all employees in our Eloy facility to assist with employee concerns, issues, and questions; while also working with the management team and corporate Human Resources to ensure employees are promptly assisted and have appropriate resolutions.
  • Work with Supervisors, Managers and Corporate HR regarding employee counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations; ensuring all actions are within company guidelines, policies, and procedures, while also maintaining the proper documentation and record retention as necessary for personnel records.
  • Lead and/or assist in all company activities to ensure positive employee morale and overall employment satisfaction.
  • Keep Managers/Supervisors informed concerning attendance, performance evaluations, birthdays, events, employee anniversaries, etc.

Other Duties:

  • Lead employee appreciation and recognition activities (parties, events, lunches, awards, etc.)
  • Attend HR meetings with Charlotte staff as needed.
  • Employee exit interviews.
  • Assist with annual inventory as needed.
  • Tracking Summer relief budget & spend.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by the Plant Manager and VP of HR in Charlotte NC corporate office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal and customer service skills, team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to present information to employees, managers, or vendors
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish and English

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business preferred. (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems (Ultimate Software, Paycor, etc).
  • Experience with management staffing and recruiting for industrial related manufacturing plants.
  • HR Assistant, Coordinator or Generalist experience required.
