Human Resources Generalist

Reports to: Director, HR and Organizational Development

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The HR Generalist will be responsible for applying human resources expertise in several areas of HR and assist in providing a wide range of support to the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in the administration, organization, and success of the HR Department by providing guidance on employee and company related information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Coordinates talent acquisition/management activity, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.

· May contract with outside vendors to provide talent acquisition services such as search firms.

· Administers benefits programs such as life, health and dental insurance, vacation, leaves of absence and employee assistance.

· Coordinate open enrollment for employee benefit programs.

· Maintain personnel folders.

· Plan and manage community projects and programs such as employee recognition, wellness, and company events.

· Responsible for the updating of I-9 documentation.

· Maintains and updates OSHA Log Information.

· Handles administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and terminations.

· Responsible for background screening and drug testing for candidates.

· Maintains the HRIS system and provides continual auditing for accuracy and compliance.

· Liaison for Workers Compensation and Safety.

· Maintains compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations concerning employment.

· Preparation of reports.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience.

· 3 to 5 years in a Generalist Role

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Awareness of OSHA reporting compliance.
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
  • Ability to appropriately adapt communication content and style based on audience.
  • Capability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Strong level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Labor Law.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

· SHRM-CP or PHR certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,958.00 - $81,141.00 per year
