Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist will partner with the Human Resources Specialist in development, implementation and administration of human resources policies and programs to support business and operational objectives.

Job Qualifications: Associates degree in business related field or equivalent experience preferred. 2 years’ experience working in a financial institution also preferred. Administrative experience required.

Essential Functions:

· Conducts the Human Resources portion of employee orientation sessions, areas of discussion to include but not limited to timekeeping software, personnel policy, and Employee Handbook.

· Assists with all areas of processing payroll, compensation, time and attendance reports for payroll. Works with all Managers to ensure employees are compensated correctly and in compliance with the Employee Handbook.

· Assists and supports employment application process, recruiting, posts job openings conducts phone interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions. Schedules interviews and collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks, completes references, and employee eligibility verifications. Provides guidance and advice to hiring managers regarding the recruitment process and candidate selection.

· Coordinates new hire onboarding. Communicates with new hire on what to expect, what to bring and plans the onboarding schedule for first 2 days with department employees involved. Orders set up with IT, Accounting, Risk, name badge, planner, etc. If needed, coordinates office set up also. Announces new hire to Credit Union.

· Assists with the updating of job descriptions and performance evaluations for all positions. Receives and reviews updates from department managers. Ensures information is complete, accessible, and current.

· Assists in developing and implementing human resource operation plans, policies, procedures, and goals. Recommends improvements as appropriate.

· Updates digital face of department regularly for accurate and informative content including homepage portals for payroll and company intranet with engaging content and information.

· Assists with updates for month end reporting for department such as: employee count, hires, separations, promotions, title or department changes, all employee phone list, teller number list, birthday list and anniversary list.

· Coordinates supply ordering for department. Prepares department invoicing including online and in store purchases to turn in to Accounts Payable with proper GL assigned and receipts scanned orderly.

· Builds relationships across every level of the organization as well as Vendors.

· Assists with the planning of events, in coordination with the Employee Experience and Member Experience Teams, as needed such as Annual Meeting, anniversary and retirement receptions/meals. Communicates with involved parties for a successful gathering and takes into consideration special touches, dietary needs, etc.

· Assists with department projects as assigned by the Employee Experience manager and/or members of the C Team. Research and information gathering is conducted as needed. Troubleshoots and resolves internal and external inquiries. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

· Knowledge of Credit Union policies, procedures and standards related to member service. Able to learn and explain human resources policies including those outlined in the Employee Handbook.

· Ability to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Make decisions based on critical need for information or assistance related to employee benefits or staffing.

· Skilled in technology and able to work with confidence in multiple software and vendor applications. Ability to demonstrate patience and skill in teaching others to use employee software and vendor benefit sites. The ability to incorporate existing or available technologies to help automate certain processes.

· Strong written and verbal communications. Able to communicate at all levels, considering the audience, across various channels. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups of associates.

· Organized in work, time management, and problem solving. Ability to read and interpret human resources policies, timesheet and benefits data and reporting systems. Ability to balance working independently or with others/group.

· Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions.

· Skilled in conflict resolution; maintains confidentiality; listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $38,000.00 per year
