Chrysalis House is expanding its location in Crownsville, MD and we are looking for an HR Director during this exciting time.

SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting with the overall provisions of Human Resources services, policies, and programs for the entire agency. Specifically this position assist and directs all recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation and performance appraisal management, maintaining employee records, change management and training programs for the Chrysalis Houses, Inc. In addition, the Human Resources Generalist is responsible for implementing, enforcing and administering federal and state employment regulations, as well as corporate policies and procedures.

ESSENIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned

· Serves as the initial point of contact for employee related questions or issues, working towards resolution in concert with the appropriate Supervisors and Directors.

· Assists Supervisors and Directors with implementation and administration of HR programs related to HRIS (human resource information systems), compensation, benefits, recruiting, and training and performance management.

· Work in partnership with the benefits vendor(s) for issues related to all benefits plans, leave management (e.g. FMLA), policies, general payroll, and other HR policies and programs, is escalate to Chief Operating Officer, as needed.

· Manage employee documentation and record keeping by processing by documenting promotion and role change letters, termination letters and other administrative tasks in coordination with supervisors and directors as necessary.

· Provide information and cooperation required for the administration, compliance and security of accurate, timely and complete employee records.

· Ensure employee record changes are communicated to ensure the implementation and timely maintenance of the employee and payroll databases.

· Manages the new hire orientation process to include preparation of offer letters, benefit enrollment, I9 documentation and all appropriate new hire paperwork according to Federal and State mandated guidelines.

· Perform exit interviews and providing feedback from interview to the Executive Director Possesses and abides by a foundational knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to employment law.

· Ensures business groups follow the company's employment-related policies, processes and procedures.

· Accountable for policy and process documentation and implementation for all Human Resources related areas.

· Provide quarterly recruitment and retention reporting the Executive Director.

· Assist in ensuring that the training program for the organization is implemented in accord with Commission on Accreditation of Residential Facilities (CARF) standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field from an accredited university is required.

· Professional of Human Resources Certification (PHR) is required

· Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment regulations

· Demonstrated success in all Human Resources functional areas within a fast-paced, technically focused environment is essential. Must be hands-on and capable of producing work with limited support staff.

· Strong project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Demonstration of ability of 5 - 7 years of progressive HR experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. PHR certification is a plus.

Previous experience in human services and/or behavioral health, non-profit agency is preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Maryland Driver’s License. Clean driving record required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate understanding of special treatment needs of women substance abusers in a residential treatment setting and show evidence of empathy, sensitivity, and maturity. Must demonstrate highest professional ethical standards and adhere to Chrysalis House Core Values and Code of Ethics.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
